Google Science Fair For Teenagers

If you are a teenager in between the age of  13-18 and looking for a competition online so you can compete with students all around the globe then there a great opportunity for you offered by Google.Google Science Fair Logo

Google recently announced its all new competition known as Google Science Fair for students in between the age of 13-18. By running it, the Internet giant aims to discover young and promising scientific talents in all areas of science.

The task here in this competition is to plan a project, then you need to conduct an experiment in course of it and document its results by using many of  digital tools offered by Google (like, shoot and upload a video demonstrating the essence of the experiment or make a 20-slide presentation). The deadline for the final project submission is April 04, 2011. In early May 60 semi finalists from all over the world will be announced and their projects will be posted online to participate in online public voting for a “People’s Choice Award”.

Thereafter On July 11, the final ceremony will take place at Google’s Headquarters in California. This time the works by finalists will be judged by a number of acclaimed Nobel Prize Laureates, technology experts and representatives of household brands.

And now, the most pleasant part of this competition. The Grand Prize winner(s) and one of their parents or a guardian will be awarded with a 10 day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions. In case the grand prize will be awarded to a group, the winners will receive USD 50, 000 in cash, and will have to share this sum. This scholarship is intended to be used towards the finalists’ further education.
