Yes, you can have multiple email address of your existing single gmail account by just adding “+” symbol after your user name and then add anything followed by @gmail.com. Here is an example below for better understanding :
Suppose my gmail id is firstname.lastname@example.org, Suppose I have three friends meena, teena, veena and if they ask for my email address then I tell them its email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com.
Now, when they send me at this address it first goes to gmail server where it recognize it as firstname.lastname@example.org and avoids “+” sign and anything after it. So any mail send to email@example.com come in my inbox.
So If you have Boyfriend/Girlfriend tell him/her email your email id as firstname.lastname@example.org and he/she will get impressed that you made an email account with each others name
NOTE: To check your mail you have to login as email@example.com that is in my case firstname.lastname@example.org without “+” sign.
